Get Involved & Schedule
Public involvement and input are essential to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. There are designated phases of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process when you can provide comments. Concurrent with the NEPA process, the Air Force is conducting required public involvement for National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 consultation for the potential effects on historic properties.
On January 8, 2026, the Air Force initiated scoping by publishing a Notice of Intent in the Federal Register. The Public Scoping Period is the first of two opportunities for public input in the EIS process. During the public scoping period virtual meetings will provide information to interested parties. Please visit the Documents page of this website to view informational graphics. The public’s input during scoping is considered in the development of the Draft EIS. Please submit comments by February 9, 2026 to ensure sufficient time for consideration in the Draft EIS. Click here for information on submitting comments.
After scoping, a Notice of Availability of the Draft EIS will be published in the Federal Register, starting the public review and comment period. The Draft EIS Public Review and Comment Period is the second opportunity for public input during the NEPA process. The Draft EIS will be posted on this website and available at local libraries. After the comment period, the Final EIS and the Record of Decision will be made available on the project website and in local libraries.
The Air Force is hosting a series of Virtual Meetings during the scoping period to provide information to interested parties and to solicit comments from the public on the proposed action and alternatives. Please attend a meeting to learn more about the Proposed Action and ask questions. Each meeting will begin with a Welcome Video and presentation of the Proposed Action followed by a question and answer session.
