Establish two large Special Activity Airspace (SAA) complexes in the West

  • Establish two SAA complexes in the West, locations vary with each Alternative:
    • Alternative 1 – Neacola and Yeti
    • Alternative 2 – Yeti and Bettles
    • Alternative 3– Neacola and Tanana
  • Each SAA complex includes:
    • Military Operations Area (MOA) with Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace (ATCAA) above
      • 500 feet up to 60,000 feet
    • ATCAA “Bridges” to connect to North and/or Gulf of Alaska SAA
      • 38,000 feet up to 60,000 feet
    • ATCAA “Shelf” on western end 
      • 18,000 feet up to 60,000 feet
  • All existing SAA in west (shown in blue on figures) replaced with new SAA complexes in the West
  • Proposed Use: Day-to-Day and Major Flying Exercises
